11 Bidders for Surat – Chennai Expressway’s Package 14 in Maharashtra

11 construction firms have submitted bid to construct 36.40 km Package 14 of 513.25 km Surat – Solapur Economic Corridor (NH-150C), which forms the northern section of what’s known as Surat – Chennai Expressway.

This new 1271 km six-lane partially access-controlled highway by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will have a mix of greenfield and brownfield-upgraded sections with an alignment passing by Nasik, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Kurnool, Kadapa & Tirupati to link Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.

Maharashtra section’s Package 14 will connect Hasapur and Badadal on the border with Karnataka. NHAI invited tenders for its construction by hybrid annuity model (HAM) in December 2022 with a 2 year deadline.

The bids have now been sent for technical bid evaluation which can take a month to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

The project’s roughly 290 km Surat – Ahmednagar section is pending environment clearance, so it’ll be a while before tender notices are published for the southern Gujarat – western Maharashtra section.

Good that you have understood the infra development in your limited capacity. Instead of appreciating the immense pace of road network, which country is witnessing never before, it is being branded with state specific mindset. In fact, infra development has always been a neglected phenomenon for other political parties except BJP.
If you are not comfortable with Gujarat model being myopic, suggest some other model to be followed. And in case Gujarat leadership is bothering you, try to get TN/ South leadership through ballot. Incidently, the opportunity is not very far. Best of luck.
