Bids Invited for Bhubaneswar Metro’s Contracts BBC-04 & BBC-05

After publishing Package BBC-03‘s tender notice on Monday, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday published notices for the rest of Bhubaneswar Metro Phase 1 project‘s civil construction work under packages BBC-04 and BBC-05.

7.27 km Package BBC-04 in the middle of Bhubaneswar’s 26 km Line-1 will link Acharya Square and KIIT Square via 7 elevated stations, while 10.970 km Package BBC-05 at the northern-end of Line-1 will link KIIT Square and Trisulia Square via 6 elevated stations.

Package BBC-05 is the longest of all 3 main-line civil packages. Its scope also includes a ramp leading to Phulapokhari Depot & Workshop which will be built under Package BBC-02 on a 16 hectare parcel.

Both packages come with a 36 month construction deadline and will be funded entirely by the Government of Odisha and other appropriate means of Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL).

Package BBC-04

• Estimated Cost: Rs. 664.06 Crore
• Pre-bid Meeting: March 19, 2024 at 11 am
• Bid Submission Deadline: April 22, 2024 at 3 pm
• Technical Bid Opening: April 23, 2024 at 3 pm

DMRC’s Brief Scope: Part Design and Construction of Elevated Viaduct and Seven Elevated Stations viz. Jayadev Vihar Square, Xavier Square, Rail Sadan, District Centre, Damana Square, Patia Square and KIIT Square (excluding Architectural finishing) from Chainage 7747.00 to 15017.00 of Bhubaneswar Metro Phase-I MRTS

Package BBC-05

• Estimated Cost: Rs. 869.71 Crore
• Pre-bid Meeting: March 20, 2024 at 11 am
• Bid Submission Deadline: April 22, 2024 at 3 pm
• Technical Bid Opening: April 23, 2024 at 3 pm

DMRC’s Brief Scope: Part Design and Construction of Elevated Viaduct and Six Elevated Stations viz. Nandan Vihar, Raghunathpur, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Barang Station, Phulapokhari, Trisulia Square (excluding Architectural finishing) from Chainage 15017.00m to 25987.78m and including ramp for Depot entry of Bhubaneswar Metro Phase-I MRTS

DMRC’s IT team goofed up and accidentally uploaded Package BBC-05’s tender drawings file to BBC-04’s tender folder. As such, the location of all stations I’ve shown above for BBC-04 are purely indicative.

The exact locations of all 6 stations of BBC-05 and KIIT Station from BBC-04 have been marked out on Google Maps over here.

Technical bids for Phulapokhari Depot’s construction under Package BBC-02 were supposed to be opened on March 14, but has now been pushed out March 21. A list of all Bhubaneswar Metro civil & system tenders and their status / contractors can be viewed here.
