8 Bidders for Mirzapur Bypass & Ganga Bridge’s Construction Work

Eight civil engineering firms have submitted bids for 15 km Mirzapur Bypass’ civil construction contract after Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of India (MoRTH) opened technical bids today.

This 4 lane greenfield highway project on NH-135A in Uttar Pradesh will consist of a 6 lane bridge over Ganga river. India’s Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways had laid the project’s foundation stone on March 1 2024.

MoRTH had invited tenders for its construction contract shortly after on March 12 with a Rs. 988.72 crore estimate and 3 year construction deadline.

Brief Scope: Construction of 4 lane Mirzapur bypass including bridge over river Ganga from km 0.000 to km 15.000 of NH 135A in the State of Uttar Pradesh on HAM Mode

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which will take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

Per the government’s PIB release, “the construction of 4-lane Mirzapur bypass on river Ganga will provide relief from traffic jams and improve connectivity between Mirzapur-Ayodhya, which will increase trade“.
