22 Firms Qualify for Kanpur Ring Road Packages 2A & 2B’s Contracts

22 bidders have technically-qualified for the civil construction work of 93.2 km Kanpur Outer Ring Road project’s packages 2A and 2B on EPC mode after technical bid evaluation was completed on Wednesday.

Kanpur Ring Road is a 6 lane greenfield expressway by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and will link Sachendi, Ramaipur, Rooma, Chakeri Airport, Trans Ganga City and Mandhana at an estimate cost of Rs. 5,182 crore. It will also be connected to the under construction Lucknow – Kanpur Expressway near Amarsus village which is now well visible on Google Maps’ satellite imagery (check it out here).

Its 8.765 km long Package 2A connects chainage Km. 23.325 to Km. 32.090 in north-western Kanpur and includes a bridge over Ganga River, while 19.110 km Package 2B will connect chainage Km. 32.090 to Km. 51.200 in northern Kanpur.

NHAI had invited tenders for both packages’ construction in January 2024 with a 910 day (2.5 year) deadline. Technical bids were opened on August 29 to reveal 20 bidders for Package 2A, and on September 4 to reveal 12 bidders for Package 2B.
