AYESA Awarded Lucknow Metro Line-2’s Design Consultant Contract
AYESA Ingenieria y Arquitectura S.A.U – AYESA India Pvt Ltd. JV last week was declared as the lowest bidder for Lucknow Metro Line-2‘s Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract LKDDC-02 by Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC).
This consultancy contract under Lucknow Metro Phase 1B project was subsequently recommended for award on January 28 based on AYESA’s bid of Rs. 15.90 crore.
Lucknow Metro’s Line-2 project involves the construction of an 11.165 km long Line-2 connecting Charbagh Railway Station and Vasant Kunj via 12 stations through Old Lucknow. The project was approved for construction by India’s Central Government in August 2025 with an estimated total cost of Rs. 5801 crore.
Per Phase 1B’s Detailed Project Report (DPR), Lucknow’s Line-2 will have an approximate elevated length of 4.286 km with 5 stations between Vasant Kunj – Thakurganj, and an underground length of 6.879 km with 7 stations between Charbagh – Niwazganj.
UPMRC had invited bids for its DDC contract in August 2025 with a 60 month (5 year) contract duration. Technical bids were opened in October to reveal 2 bidders, AYESA and SYSTRA – Ardanuy JV, and their financial bids were opened on January 21 to reveal AYESA as the lowest bidder.

Pre-construction tendering activities for Line-2 are now really moving along. Earlier this month, UPMRC invited bids for the elevated section’s construction work under Package LKCC (02)-02.
