[Pics] TBM Assembly at Egmore station
You just have to love Flickr for all the amazing pictures that both amateurs and professional photographers post on it. What makes it more likeable is when it’s used by project professionals to showcase their project to the rest of the world. Meet H. Jürgen Mick, a Deputy Tunnel Manager at Afcons India Ltd. who has carved out a special folder appropriately called working to house his images from the two project contracts (UAA01 and UAA05) that Afcons has been tasked to build in Chennai. While UAA01 covers the 5.5 km section from Washermenpet to Egmore station, UAA05 covers the 3.1 km section from Shenoy Nagar to Thiurmangalam station.
Jürgen yesterday updated his working folder with images of a TBM being assembled at Chennai’s Egmore Metro station which will soon start tunneling towards the Central metro station (See: Chennai’s Central Station to Become a Transport Hub).
To start off, here’s a look at the Egmore Metro station’s site on Google Earth. It sits just north of the Egmore Railway Station:

To all the Metro fans reading this, I would definitely recommend you to check out his working album that includes amazing site images from the past couple of years. You will definitely not regret it.
