NHSRCL Invites Survey Bids for Mumbai – Nagpur High Speed Rail
National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) today invited bids for the first ever preparatory survey work to develop the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the upcoming 741 km Mumbai – Nasik – Nagpur High Speed Rail (bullet train) project in Maharashtra.
After the 865 km Delhi – Varanasi High Speed Rail Line and 886 km Delhi – Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Line, this is the third of six new high speed rail corridors, planned by the Government of India in 2019, for which basic preliminary work has commenced to start construction on the project.
On the Mumbai end of the line, the line’s new civil infrastructure is expected to start from Thane, or thereabouts, and branch off from the 508.17 km Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor which is riddled with land acquisition issues, high bids quoted by infrastructure companies and an indifferent incumbent state government in Maharashtra.

The bidding documents will be available to download tomorrow morning at 9 am, so it’ll be interesting to see if NHSRCL reveals any of the planned station names or their numbers within it. If they do, I’ll add an update here.
Update: 12 new stations are tentatively planned to be built at Shahapur, Igatputi, Nasik, Shirdi, Aurangabad, Jalna, Mehkar, Malegaon Jahangir, Karanja Lad, Pulgaon, Wardha and Nagpur
The finalization of the line’s alignment is months, if not years, away, but the line is expected to partly follow the under construction 701 km Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway (Nagpur Mumbai Super Communication Expressway) which will connect 10 districts of the state.
If the Delhi – Ahmedabad line’s development is anything to go by, then in the coming days NHSRCL will invite bids for the line’s Ridership (Traffic Study), General Alignment Drawings, and Final Alignment Design including LiDAR survey.

Very good decision , I am excepting pune Nashik rail link work to be started immediately
Any update on the station names?
Just added them above
Amazing! So this runs along the Samruddhi Mahamarg. Hopefully land acquisition should not be a problem in this case..
I guess this Line can be extend further till Kolkata as well.
Have any land surveyor vacancy? For viaduct metro rail project .
In the “Period of Work”, you mention “112 days” (approx 4 months).
Does that mean that if the bid is awarded on 1 Jan 2021, the work should be finished by April 2021? If this is the case, it will be very good progress!
Yes, unless the contract has a start date mentioned in it
Plz share survey Number Shahapur Taluka
