Information

Mumbai – Nagpur High-Speed Rail (MNHSR Bullet Train) project is 741 km proposed High Speed Rail line that will connect Mumbai, Nasik, Shirdi, Aurangabad and Nagpur through 12 stations in Maharashtra at a project cost that is yet to be finalized.

This is the third of six new high speed rail corridors, planned by the Government of India in 2019, for which basic preliminary work has commenced to start construction on the project by the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL).

On the Mumbai end of the line, the line’s new civil infrastructure is expected to start from Thane, or thereabouts, and branch off from the 508.17 km Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor on which construction will start in 2021.

In September 2020, NHSRCL invited bids for preparing the line’s final alignment design (using LiDAR surveys), and for preparing Stage-1 preliminary route development artefacts, with an aim to prepare its detailed project report (DPR) as tasked by the Government of India in 2019.

In March 2021, SECON – Helica JV started aerial LiDAR survey work with a 150 day deadline.
