3 Bidders for Nagpur – Goa Expressway’s DPR Consultant
3 firms have submitted bids to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of the 760 km Nagpur – Goa Expressway after Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) opened technical bids today.
This greenfield access-controlled highway will connect Pavnar (near Wardha) and Patradevi (Pernem Taluk). It’s been nicknamed Shaktipeeth Expressway as it’ll provide access to pilgrimage sites in Vidarbha – Marathwada – Western Maharashtra – Goa.
The scope of the contract also includes preparing a feasibility study and providing MSRDC with assistance in land acquisition.
MSRDC invited tenders for this contract in October 2022 with a 540 day (1.5 year) completion deadline and an unknown estimate.
Bidders
- L N Malviya Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd.
- Monarch Surveyors & Engineering Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
- TPF Engineering Pvt. Ltd.
Brief Scope: Appointment of Consultant for Preparation of feasibility study report Detailed project report and assistance in land acquisition up to award stage for proposed Pavnar Patradevi Nagpur Goa Maharashtra Shaktipeeth Expressway
The bids have now been sent for technical bid evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely consultant.
Nagpur – Goa Expressway will be connected to the partly operational 701 km Samruddhi Mahamarg (Mumbai – Nagpur Expressway) in Wardha, just south of Nagpur. It’s expected to reduce travel time between Nagpur and Goa to about 7 hours from the current 21 hour journey.
Back in December, I setup a basic information page for this project here where I’ll be tracking all contracts / tenders.

So construction will start in 2025?
No sooner than 2025 🙂 In other words – not in 2023, not in 2024.
DPR prep is pegged at 1.5 years, approvals, civil tendering etc. will push the start of work to 2025 or later.
Don’t you think 540 Days is too much for DPR
That is very limited time to complete land acquisition for such a longer stretch. It will need forest, environment, wildlife and probably coastal clearance.
Can MSRDC, being a Maharashtra state PSU, build inter-state expressway?
Moreover, why are States spending resources on highways which can be done by NHAI.
It is not inter-state. The highway will be from Nagpur to Kolhapur and from there to Goa border in Sindhudurg district.
A lot of highways are also being built by NHAI.
First complete Mumbai Goa highway project then think of other.
Why People leave don’t leave in rest of Maharashtra ? Why only Mumbai centric?
most of the development projects were carried out in the capital reigion of a state for exaple hyderabad for tenangana and with mumbai beiang the financial capital of india the funds for the project can be given by central govt
with more job opportunities people try to settle there with Nagpur and other tier 2 and3 cities coming up with the load of this imense poputation saturation in Mumbai should end soon.
DPR prepared by which Company? Please Mention Mahatender website Tender ID if possible.
