12 Bidders for Kanpur Ring Road Package 4’s Construction

12 firms have submitted bids for the civil construction contract of 93.2 km Kanpur Outer Ring Road project’s Package 4 after National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) opened technical bids on Tuesday.

This 6 lane greenfield expressway will link Sachendi, Ramaipur, Rooma, Chakeri Airport, Trans Ganga City and Mandhana at an estimate cost of Rs. 5,182 crore. It will also be connected to the under construction Lucknow – Kanpur Expressway near Amarsus village.

24.559 km long Package 4 lies south of Kanpur city and will connect Sachendi (Ch. 93.209) with Khudhgaon (Ch.68.650). NHAI had invited tenders for its construction in November 2022 with a 900 day (2.46 year) deadline.

Brief Scope: Development of Six lane green field Ring Road (Package-IV) starts from Design Ch.68.650 to Design Ch. 93.209 (Length 24.559 kms) around Kanpur City in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

The project has a 4 civil packages. With this development, technical bids for 1 package has been opened, bidding is underway for 2, while a tender notice is pending for 1 – see a list of all packages and their scope/status here.
