CMRS Clears Badarpur-Faridabad Metro Line with Conditions

The DMRC has received the mandatory safety clearance by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) for opening the 13.9 km long Badarpur to YMCA Chowk section of the Violet line in Faridabad for commercial operations. This clearance however has come with certain conditions which the DMRC has not revealed, but will have to comply with prior to launching services. Depending on the nature of those conditions, it could take from upto 1 week to a month for the section to open to commuters.

While trials began in April, the safety inspection for this stretch was carried out between August 10 and 12.  It’s worth mentioning that this section will be meeting its partial power requirements through solar power (See: Delhi Metro Installs 9 New Solar Plants on Violet Line).

August 27 Update: The corridor will be launched for commercial operations on September 6 (See: PM to Inaugurate Delhi Metro’s Extn to Faridabad on Sep 6)
