Delhi Metro’s Samaypur Badli Extension to Open on November 10

After wrapping up the safety inspection last week, the Delhi Metro’s Samaypur Badli extension of the Yellow line will finally open to the public and start commercial services on November 10 at 2 pm! In a press release published by the DMRC an hour ago, they announced the commencement details:

The Jahangirpuri- Samaypur Badli section (Extension of Line-2) of the Delhi Metro will be inaugurated by Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development and Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi on 10th November, (Tuesday) 2015. 

The inaugural ceremony will be held at Metro Bhawan Auditorium at 9.30 am from where the ceremonial flagging off will be done. The first ceremonial train will start from Samaypur Badli.  Commercial services for the public on this section will be started from 2 PM on 10th of November, (Tuesday) 2015.

This section includes new stations at Haiderpur, Rohini Sector 18 and Samaypur Badli as shown below:

After the start of services on this section, the Yellow line from Samaypur Badli to HUDA City Centre will become 49 km long while the Delhi Metro’s network will become ~213 km long with 159 stations!
