LMRCL Submits DPRs of Agra & Meerut Metros to UP Govt
The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. yesterday submitted the Detailed Project Reports for Agra & Meerut’s Metro systems to Uttar Pradesh’s state government! The DPRs were prepared by RITES while the LMRCL coordinated the work for bringing all stakeholders together for kick-starting these projects, including the ones at Kanpur & Varanasi which were recently approved. Both Agra & Meerut’s projects have been envisaged as joint ventures between the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government with 50:50 equity partnerships.
Agra Metro
The project’s techno-economic feasibility report (TEFR) was prepared by RITES in September 2015. After various site visits, engineering surveys and review meetings, they submitted its DPR to the Agra Development Authority in November 2015 for the ADA to examine and submit their suggestions.

Total Length: 30 km
Line 1: Sikandra to Taj East Gate, 14 km – elevated (6.4 km) & underground (7.6 km)

Line 2: Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar, 16 km – entirely elevated
Stations: Agra Cantt. , Sadar Bazaar, Pratap Pura, Collectorate, Subhash Park, St. John’s (Agra University), Sanjay Place, MG Road, Sur Sudan, Sultanganj, Kamla Nagar, Rambagh, Foundary Nagar, Mandi Samiti & Kalindi Vihar
Meerut Metro
The project’s DPR was submitted by RITES to the Meerut Development Authority in January 2016 for the MDA to examine and submit suggestions.
Estimated Cost: Rs 11,544 crore
Total Length: 35 km
Line 1: Partapur to Modipuram, 20 km – elevated (12.8 km) & underground (7.2 km)
Line 2: Shradhapuri Phase II to Jagriti Vihar, 15 km – elevated (10.7 km ) & underground (4.3 km)
The state assembly elections are coming up in Q1 2017, so I expect the state government to give their approval for the projects before that. The 2016-17 budget presented by the Chief Minister in February 2016 didn’t allocate any funds for these project’s construction, so at the most new nodal agencies to develop these projects will be created & staffed this year.

When will the final phase 4 map will be released of delhi metro. And now haiderpur station’s upper track is useless. It was designed for magenta line phase 4.
Final map’s publication depends on when all the routes are finalized and approved by the respective governments (Delhi/Haryana/UP).
So it is expected to be published after the completion of phase 3.
Yes, give it some time. Perhaps another year or two. I’ll share the map whenever its published.
There is feasibility of only line 2/red one of the meerut metro. The other line is overlapping and exactly same for the meerut rrts that will run from nzm to meerut. Besides line 1 will have to be scrapped absolutely because there cant be two lines on that route. It is not possible to lay four tunnels or viaducts in that super heavily congested area. Please do update why they are pursuing line 1 when meerut rrts is already in place.
