Preliminary Design of Noida Metro’s CRRC Trains Unveiled

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation on Sunday released a preliminary design of its 19 new train-sets that are being procured from CRRC Corporation to run on its 30 km Aqua Line. These trains are part of a 76 coach (19 train-sets x 4 coaches) order for which the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, on behalf of Noida Metro Rail Corporation, signed a MoU with CRRC in March 2016 after CRRC emerged as the lowest technically qualified bidder in January.

A model coach is expected to arrive in the city in February 2017 while the actual train-sets are expected to start arriving in July, just a couple months before the line is expected to go live by the end of 2017.

As per the NMRC, each train will have a seating capacity of 186 and can carry approximately 1,000 passengers. No further details on its interior features have been released, but they’re expected to be fairly standard to what you’d find in modern coaches.

Color scheme is fantastic but the front design is just OK. Hope headlight design is changed in final design for production.

The design looks great. I give it 8/10 only because the sides look bland with the aqua colored stripe running at the top instead of in the center like Delhi metro.

Seems that the priority is given to safety with the front emergency door width compared to the driver allocated vision area.

U say this line will open in 2017 end. Will it be connected to the blue line of delhi metro or will it operate in isolation. I dont think the blue line extension into noida will be ready by then.

DMRC has asked the contractor (CICO-YFC) to prioritize the Noida City Centre – Sector 34 – Sector 52/71 stretch so that users can easily switch. I think it’ll be quite a race to finish. Let’s see what happens.

Thanks for the update. You must be referring to the Sector 34 station – that came up really quickly!

        yes,nd also sector 34 nd 52/71 station,
is there any chance they can open blue line extension now(when completed) nd wait for aqua line to be completed which i doubt will happen given how slowly these guys work in final station setup stages like kalindi station of magneta line, okhla too..

i dnt think extending just 2 stations, 34 nd 52/71 would be feasible, but again its DMRC they can do anything like Mandi House- ITO

Depends on the track-system and if the trains can easily be reversed. Otherwise, we’ll be looking at single line operations like Mandi House – ITO. Let’s see what happens.

ya,they are really taking pace for these two stations,
i hope they dont create a similar mess they hv done with Mandi House station(violet line platform)

Darker blue seats are meant for PH or females if aqua blue is meant for general.

The front design lacks some fundamentals of Industrial design… I have observed lots of products from China and Europe and clearly China needs to push more on industrial design…. If they really want to win in design field; after becoming global manufacturing leader.
