Update on Me and Site’s Future

Hello again! Let’s cut to the chase – I got burned out. Some of you might have noticed symptoms in the months prior to my exit. I needed a break to assess, re-focus and rebuild things that mattered to me, outside of TMRG, which took a back seat when I was active. And I’m glad I did.

The last 1.5 years turned out to be fantastic in many different ways. I can’t get into details but let’s just say – I set small goals and ended up better professionally and personally. Side-effects included getting fitter, developing more meaningful relationships, and dabbling with new activities. There’s more to come in 2020.

…and now I want to get back to what I love – TMRG.

I’m absolutely humbled and floored by the messages/emails you sent. It was crazy browsing through Reddit and seeing a post asking about my whereabouts. It wasn’t fair of me to go MIA without notice – and I apologize – but I just had to cut the cord completely for correcting course.

I’m going to restart writing (there’s a lot to track) but will have to dedicate lesser time for social media and site comments. Posts might be shorter and may not always be timely. I’m going to have to start slow to find the right balance. My 2020 calendar has started filling up, so I’ll make sure to post a quick FYI tweet if I’m out for a considerable amount of time.

A lot has transpired since in the metro rail world – most of which is exciting. I’ve started updating each city’s project information page and will update the others’ in the next couple weeks, with a goal to wrap up by month-end. New posts will trickle in as I find my bearings and reconnect with the industry – please be a little patient 🙂

Welcome back Sir. We used to get more better updates from you, more than the metro corporations. Your updates were seriously found valuable.

Good to hear that you took break and prioritized your personal aspects, decided to stay away from social media which made you revive and come back to TMRG which seemed to be your passion.

    All the best !!!

I am glad that you got your main life goals in order. However with regards to your future agenda for TMRG I respectfully disagree with your assessment . Your USP is the detailed and informative nature of your updates.

I understand that this is a hobby and you can’t let that overload your life however you should not let go of your uniqueness in this mediocrity ridden world.
My suggestion to you shall be don’t try to catalogue every milestone even one update per month is good enough if it’s detailed with a unique perspective. With regards to social media and comments section I agree with your philosophy of reducing the clutter and load.
Might I also suggest collaboration and delegating to lessen the load. With that in mind I will be glad to help too 😀

I understand that it must have been extremely stressful at the time when you left. Was hoping you would be taking care of your health and prioritise what you need to get better.

I pray 2020 will be better than you imagined. Take your time in catching up since the last updates in 2018. Good to see your new year tweets on Twitter as well. God bless you abundantly.

Welcome back, TMRG. I was genuinely worried. Please take care! Don’t take too much stress, and keep yourself healthy. End of day, health and family is all that matters.

On practical side of how this blog can be run
    1. Try to form a team and delegate. Maybe have a “COO” to run the operations, and you concentrate only on content.
    2. Or have others contribute content and you look only into quality and final approval.

    All the best!

Happy new year 2020 and as someone has commented it looks like a new metro line has opened in 2020.

Come on man, how can you be so casual. I am mighty angry with you and so are many like me. But only thing they dont want to castigate you. But I had to give you an earful.

Anyway, because we all are at your mercy, we cant do anything. So we have to take it in our stride or grin it and bear.

I used to off and on check TMRG. Only now, when I got a feed on my mobile on some metro news, I realised that you are back. But I still wanted to check for myself. And yes, you have come back well and truly.

And knowing you, I can tell you, you are surely going to ditch us again, but I dont know when. But that time, I will not be suirprised or pained. I will only dub it as a whimsical attitude of yours.

The feeling is like, you all of a sudden vanish from your house without telling your wife. And after 2 years suddenly turn up. How would the wife feel? Cheated and angry. That’s what I am feeling now.

    Anyway, I can’t rant more.

Please, if you leave, have the courtesy to tell us all and then go. Thatl’s the least we ask of you.

I also thought like others, that you ended your life or some criiminal did that to you!

    Ok, Enough.

Please regale us with all news on metro. I am desperate. I am a metro-maniac man.

    Bye.

Found your thread on reddit. I know it’s really frustrating when some idiots copied and monetized your hard work. Happened same to me. You feel like giving up. In most cases, these guys work like an online gang and they are SEO and online experts. They know what they are doing. They are not even scared of getting their AdSense account banned, which means a certified Ad Partner/Account Manager is behind their business.

The more you ask them to remove your content from their sites, the more they will copy. They will keep copying.

Check the Ad Account IDs on their display ads. Try reporting it to Google. Submit your post on other subreddits like r/juststart, r/SEO, and r/webmarketing for more exposure. They may help you out.

My suggestion to you is – ignore and move on. Keep up your good work. Soon or later, their sites will get penalized.

    Best luck

Your comment led me to reddit and I came to know about this for the first time. I didn’t realise those sites were ripping you off and used to follow them too. I obviously won’t name the sites because it must be TMRG’s decision if he wants to bring that issue over to this blog or not, but I’m sure there are many loyal enough followers who are simply unaware of this issue entirely.

Keep up the good work TMRG, it is highly appreciated!
