DBL Casts Bhopal Metro Package 1’s Final Segment
Dilip Buildcon Ltd. today cast the final of 1851 precast segments for the viaduct of Bhopal Metro Phase 1 project’s 6.225 km Package-01 (Subhash Nagar – AIIMS).
Package-01 is the first section of Bhopal Metro’s 14.99 km Line-2 (Karond Circle – AIIMS) for which Dilip Buildcon commenced work in early 2019 through a Rs. 247.06 crore contract awarded by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Co Limited (MPMRCL) in October 2018 with a completion deadline of 27 months.
The project’s first segment weighing 60 MT was cast in November 2019, and the firm began launching segments in September 2020 between Piers 144-145 near Kendriya Vidyalaya Station on Hoshangabad Road.
Besides the elevated viaduct between Subhash Nagar – AIIMS, Dilip Buildcon will also be constructing an entry/exit ramp to Subhash Nagar Depot where fourteen 3-coach trains for the Purple Line will be stabled and maintained.
Stations en-route are being built by URC Construction through Package BH-02 and will be located at Shubhash Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya, DB City Mall, Sangam Cinema, Himansarovar / Habibganj Station, Habibgang Naka, Alkapuri Bus Stand and AIIMS.
Bidding is currently underway for Indore Metro & Bhopal Metro’s combined 156 coach rolling stock contract (Package BH-IN-02). Here’s a break-down of the number of coaches for each:
- Bhopal’s Purple Line: 42 coaches (14 x 3)
- Bhopal’s Red Line: 39 coaches (13 x 3)
- Indore’s Yellow Line: 75 coaches (25 x 3)
Technical bids are planned to be opened on February 11, so stay tuned!

– TMRG
very slow work of madhya pardesh metro
Nice achievement by DBL and MPMRCL in Bhopal metro .
As Work on viaduct is going fast and segments has been launched on most of the pillars The station work should go fast dor opening in 2023 end .
Indore metro work is also going at a nice speed now and RVNL had started soil testing earlier this month so we can expect Indore metro to open soon after Bhopal metro .
I had a question TMRG , on google all articles say that the stations contract of Indore metro IN-02 and the IN-03 both is given to RVNL but on you Indore metro page You said that the In-02 package is given to URCC . CAn you please explain as I have doubt in that
Thanks
Bid won by RVNL.
Direct sublet to URC.
ohh
what is meant by sublet ?
I understood the meaning but ehy did they do that .
Because RVNL is government PSU.. RVNL don’t have machinery like launching girder , batching plant etc
thanks sir for explanation.
