APCO Wins Jewar Airport’s Link with Delhi – Mumbai Expressway

APCO Infratech on Friday was declared as the lowest bidder to construct the 30 km Jewar Airport Link to connect with the 1350 km Delhi – Mumbai Expressway (DME) project.

This 6 lane access-controlled spur by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will connect the under construction Noida International Airport with the 59 km DND – Sohna Spur, which is under construction by DRA Infracon through 3 packages.

The project includes a bridge over the Yamuna River and its alignment has an almost equal length in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

NHAI invited tenders for its construction in January 2022 through the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) with a Rs. 1533.34 crore estimate and 730 day (2 year) deadline. Technical bids were opened in early July to reveal 12 bidders.

APCO’s bid was 12.17% higher than NHAI’s estimate, which is within their permissible limit, so a contract should be awarded in the coming weeks.

The entire Delhi – Mumbai expressway has been divided into 4 sections with a total of 52 packages – see a list and their status here. Project details and design of Noida International Airport can be viewed here.

    About this :
its alignment has an almost equal length in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

I think it’s much longer in Haryana than in the UP. The Haryana-UP boundary is now fixed, and no longer depends on the main stream of Yamuna (and hence is much further to East in this segment than the Yamuna river itself)

Hope the Authorities don’t forget to construct an interchange with EPE; the way they have messed up the interchange of EPE & Yamuna Expressway..

It’s incredibly stupid, that the governments can concur up roads to connect two points that are still in construction and don’t have a lot of habitation, but cannot comprehend the need to create a proper connection between Faridabad, Noida and Greater Noida so that people don’t have to travel to Delhi first and then onwards to their destination city. All 3 satellite towns have a huge population moving to and fro between them, yet they’re still not properly connected to each other. Whereas Jewar is being constructed even further from Greater Noida, it will have no major population movement for more than a decade atleast, yet for the authorities, connection to DME(another in-construction project) was a priority. Goddamn idiots.
