KTK Awarded Pune Metro’s Platform Screen Door Contract

Back in June, KTK Group Company Ltd. was awarded a contract to supply and commission platform screen doors (PSDs) for Pune Metro Phase 1’s 16.589 km Purple Line (PCMC – Swargate).

The contract valued at USD 3,021,080 and INR 15,93,65,790.55 comes with a 12 month deadline and will be financed by Agence Française de Développement (AFD).

Full height PSDs will be installed at 5 underground stations under construction by Gulermak – Tata Projects JV at Shivaji Nagar, Civil Court, Budhwar Peth, Mandai and Swargate.

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. had invited tenders for this systems contract in February 2022 and received 4 bids. Financial bid values remain unknown to me, but here’s how all bidders were placed:

Brief Scope: Name of the Work: Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Platform Screen Doors System

KTK Group in 2021 commissioned half-height PSDs at Mumbai’s elevated Line-2A.

Besides preventing suicides and accidents due to passenger movement, these PSDs will greatly help MahaMetro to reduce maintenance costs in the underground stations by improving the quality of the environment, resulting in lower air-conditioning and ventilation costs.
