11 Bidders for Kanpur Ring Road Package 1’s Contract

11 firms have submitted bids for the civil construction contract of 93.2 km Kanpur Outer Ring Road project’s Package 1 after National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) opened technical bids on Thursday.

This 6 lane greenfield expressway will link Sachendi, Ramaipur, Rooma, Chakeri Airport, Trans Ganga City and Mandhana at an estimate cost of Rs. 5,182 crore. It will also be connected to the under construction Lucknow – Kanpur Expressway near Amarsus village.

23.325 km long Package 1 lies west of Kanpur city and will connect Sachendi (Ch. 93.209) with Mandhana (Ch.23.325). NHAI had invited tenders for its construction in November 2022 with a 912 day (2.5 year) deadline.

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which will take about a month to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

The project has a 4 civil packages. On Tuesday, NHAI opened Package 4’s bids to reveal 12 firms had participated to build that section between  Sachendi (Ch. 93.209) and Khudhgaon (Ch.68.650).

With this development, technical bids for 2 packages have been opened, bidding is underway for 1, while a tender notice is pending for 1 – see a list of all packages and their scope/status here.
