5 Bidders for Gorakhpur Bypass’ Construction Work

5 firms have submitted bids for 26.6 km Gorakhpur North-East Bypass’ civil construction contract after National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) opened technical bids on Friday.

This 4 lane greenfield highway project will connect national highway NH-29E near Jangal Kauria with NH-28 near Madapar in Uttar Pradesh.

This project along with NH-29E’s 16 km Kalesar – Jangal Kauria section and 31.72 km southern bypass on NH-28 Lucknow – Muzaffarpur highway (currently being upgraded to 6 lanes) will complete a ring road around Gorakhpur city.

NHAI had invited tenders for its construction contract under Bharatmala Pariyojna (BMP) in December 2022 with a 2 year deadline.

Bidders

  • Ceigall India Ltd.
  • Gawar Construction Ltd.
  • PNC Infratech Ltd.
  • Ravi Infrabuild Projects Pvt. Ltd.
  • Vijai Construction (India) Pvt. Ltd.

Brief Scope: Construction of 4 lane Greenfield North East side Gorakhpur bypass (26.616 kms) starting from NH29E (Km 83.308) and end at NH28 (Km 285.100) under NHDP Phase-7 in Uttar Pradesh under Bharatmala pariyojana on EPC mode

End points of Gorakhpur’s NE Bypass (not to be construed as alignment)

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which will take about a month to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

Good observation! For highway projects, I’ve changed my canned text of “couple months” to “about a month”.
