DBL & MEIL Win Bangalore-Vijayawada Expressway’s 3 Contracts

Dilip Buildcon Ltd. (DBL) and Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL) on Monday were declared as the lowest bidder for 3 civil construction contracts of 518 km Bengaluru – Vijayawada Expressway project.

While DBL won Package 7 (their 3rd win), MEIL scooped up packages 8 and 10 (their 6th & 7th wins) in Andhra Pradesh.

This 6 lane access-controlled expressway (NH-544G) will be built under Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) Phase 2 with a mix of brownfield-upgrade (36%) and greenfield (64%) routes. Its alignment will pass by Kadapa lending it the name of BKV Expressway.

India’s National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had invited tenders for their construction under Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) in January 2023 with a 730 day (2 year) deadline. Technical bids were opened earlier this month to reveal 9 bidders for packages 7-10.

DBL & MEIL’s bids were lower than NHAI’s estimates in each case, so contracts should be awarded in the coming weeks without a lengthy financial bid evaluation period.

The project’s 343 km greenfield section connecting Kodikonda, AP to Addanki, AP has been divided up into 14 civil packages.

With this development, financial bids have been opened for 13 packages to reveal their most likely contractor, while technical bid evaluation is underway for just 1 package i.e. Package 9 – see a complete tender list and their contractors/status here.

Hey TMRG, sadly, you haven’t updated your Jaipur Metro page to reflect Phase 1D of Jaipur Metro. Please, can you? It has already been approved by Rajasthan CM, Shri Ashok Gehlot.
