9 Bidders for Varanasi Airport’s New Terminal Contract

Nine firms have submitted bids for the civil construction work of a new terminal building at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh after Airports Authority of India (AAI) opened technical bids today.

The new terminal building spread across an area of 75,220 sq. m. will have 8 aerobridges, 72 check-in counters, 14 security check counters and 6 baggage claim belts. It will have an ultimate design capacity of handling 6 MPPA and be capable of handling 5000 peak hour passengers.

AAI had invited tenders for the terminal’s civil construction contract in December 2023 with a Rs. 995.08 crore estimate and 3 year completion deadline.

  • Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam Ltd.

AAI’s Brief Scope: Development of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi. Package-I – Construction of New Terminal Building and Allied works on Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Model

The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.
