Delhi – Meerut RRTS: L&T Conducts Load Test at 2 Steel Girder Spans of Package 3

I often get guest post requests to promote spammy websites and products which get rejected right away as I’d like to provide quality relevant content to all readers. Here’s a post on a topic that makes the cut by Saurav Chugh, Sr. Engineer QA-QC at Larsen & Toubro working on the Delhi – Meerut RRTS project.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) recently conducted a Span Load Test in collaboration with Namo-Bharat Trains as a part of NCRTC’s 82 km Delhi – Meerut RRTS (RapidX) Project’s Package-3, Lot-2 in Meerut.

The test took place from January 26 to January 29, 2024, on a 54m steel girder span over Modinagar Nallah and a 50m steel girder span over the Delhi-Meerut Expressway near Partapur.

This particular 15 km Lot-2 involves the construction of five stations at Modinagar North, Meerut-South, Partapur, Rithani, and Shatabdi-Nagar. Notably, it includes the installation of five Steel Girder Spans, featuring two spans over the railway line, two spans over Nallah, and one span over the Delhi-Meerut Expressway near Partapur.

To mark the initiation of the Load Test over the span, a pooja ceremony was conducted by L&T and NCRTC’s team. NCRTC’s Managing Director, Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, was present during the ceremony. The load was applied to both the 54m and 50m steel spans using sandbags and RRTS trains containing bags on both upline and downline tracks.

This significant milestone underscores the dedication and collaborative efforts of L&T and NCRTC in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of key components within the Delhi-Meerut RRTS Project.
