Enia Wins Nagpur Metro Phase 2’s Design Consultant Contract DDC-03

Enia Design on Thursday was declared as the lowest bidder for Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract DDC-03 of 43.8 km Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha-Metro).

Package DDC-03’s scope includes designing 8 elevated stations located between Jamtha and Butibori on the Orange Line’s 18.70 km southern extension (Reach 1A and Reach 1B). The 8 stations will be constructed at Ashokvan, Dongargaon, Mohgaon, Meghdoot MIDC, Butibori Police Station, MHADA Colony, MIDC KEC and MIDC ESR.

Maha-Metro had invited bids for this consultancy service in November 2023 with Rs. 5.20 crore estimate and expects the DDC to be onboard for a duration of 3 years.

Technical bids were opened in December 2023 to reveal 6 bidders. Among them, Structcon Designs Pvt. Ltd. was disqualified during technical evaluation for not meeting the tender’s conditions.

Maha-Metro’s Brief Scope: Detailed Design Consultancy Services for 8 (Eight) Elevated Stations viz. Ashokvan, Dongargaon, Mohgaon, Meghdoot MIDC, Butibori Police Station, MHADA Colony, MIDC KEC and MIDC ESR, excluding Viaduct in station portions on Reach1A and Reach1B of NMRP

Enia Design is a wholly-owned subsidiary of France’s Enia Architects. Their bid of Rs. 3.08 crore was well below MahaMetro’s estimate of Rs. 5.20 crore, so a contract should be awarded after the Lok Sabha election’s model conduct of conduct ends.

Enia will be responsible for producing and proposing alternate designs of all civil, architectural, building services, electrical and mechanical works for all 8 stations.

This is Enia’s second win in Nagpur Metro’s Phase 2 after design package DDC-02 for Reach 3A & 4A consisting of 11 stations. Here’s a table (best viewed on a Desktop) with the status / contractor of each of Nagpur Metro’s design packages:
