Information
43.8 km Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared by RITES and approved by the Maharashtra state government’s cabinet in January 2019 with an estimated cost of Rs. 6,717 crore.
The DPR’s approval has since then been pending on the Central Government’s cabinet for approval. The DPR document can be viewed on Maha-Metro’s website here.
Phase 2 project’s foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 11, 2022.

The project aims to extend the two existing lines built in Phase 1 to Kanhan in the north, Butibori MIDC in the south, Transport Nagar (Kapsi) in the east and Hingna in the west. It comprises of a 1.2 km at-grade section with 2 stations and 42.6 km elevated sections with 30 stations
An additional 5th corridor is proposed to branch out from Line-2 at Vasudev Nagar towards Wadi.

Line-1 (Orange Line) Reach 1A: MIHAN to Butibori MIDC ESR
- Length: 18.7 km
- Number of Stations: 10
- Catchment Area: Jamtha, Dongargaon, Mohgaon, Butibori, MHADA colony, Indorama Colony.
Line-1 (Orange Line) – Reach 2A: Automotive Square to Kanhan
- Length: 13 km
- Number of Stations: 12
- Catchment Area: Khasara, Lekha Nagar, Kamptee, and Dragon Palace
Line-2 (Aqua Line) – Reach 3A: Lokmanya Nagar to Hingna
- Length: 6.6 km
- Number of Stations: 7
- Catchment Area: Nildoh, Gajanan Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Raipur, and Hingna Village including surrounding MIDC areas
Line-2 (Aqua Line) – Reach 4A: Prajapati Square to Transport Nagar
- Length: 5.5 km
- Number of Stations: 3
- Catchment Area: Ambe Nagar, Kapsi, and Transport Nagar
Line-2 (Aqua Line) – Reach 5: Vasudev Nagar – Wadi
- Length: 4.5 km
- Number of Stations: 3
- Catchment Area: MIDC Hinda, Pardsinga, and Wadi
