4 Bidders for Nagpur Metro Phase 2’s Electrical & Mechanical Contract E&M-02

Four firms in December 2023 submitted bids for Electrical & Mechanical Contract E&M-02 of 43.8 km long Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project after Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha-Metro) opened technical bids.

The scope of Package E&M-02 includes work at 12 elevated stations of Aqua Line’s Reach 2 (Automotive Square to Kanhan) in eastern Nagpur. It also includes work at 2 depots, which I’m inclined to believe is expansion related and will take place within the existing depots built in Phase 1 at MIHAN and Hinga.

The 12 stations included within its scope will be built at Pili Nadi, Khasara Fata, All India Radio, Kheri Fata, Lok Vihar, Lekha Nagar, Cantonment, Kamptee Police Station, Kamptee Municipal Council, Dragaon Palace, Golf Club and Kanhan.

Maha-Metro had originally invited bids for this contract in July under package E&M-01 which was cancelled for reasons known to me. Bids were re-invited in November 2023 with Rs. 70.07 crore estimate and 900 day deadline.

Bidders

  • Colossus Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd.
  • Jakson Ltd.
  • Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL)
  • Univastu India Ltd.

MahaMetro’s Brief Scope: Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Electrical and Mechanical E AND M works of 12 Nos. of Stations in Reach 2 Extension and 2 Nos. of Depots under Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase 2

The bids are currently undergoing technical evaluation. When completed, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely consultant.

The first of two contracts for the viaduct interconnecting these stations awarded to Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) in September 2023.
