12 Bidders for Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor’s C6 Contract

Twelve firms have bid to construct 64.53 km Package C-6 of the 121.7 km Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) project after Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (HRIDC) opened technical bids on Monday.

Package C-6 of Haryana’s first semi high-speed rail line will connect HORC’s New Patli Station (chainage km 61.50) with the Indian Railways’ Harsana Kalan Station (chainage km 126.03) along the north-west side of the line.

Its scope also includes construction of two spurs – one from HORC’s Badsa Station to IR’s Sultanpur Station, and the other from HORC’s Mandothi Station to IR’s Asaudah Station.

HRIDC had invited tenders for this package’s construction in March 2024 with a 3 year completion deadline and an undisclosed estimate which I hear is approximately Rs. 1900 crore.

Bidders

  • APCO Infratech Pvt. Ltd.
  • Ashoka Buildcon Ltd.
  • Ceigall India Ltd.
  • Dilip Buildcon Ltd.
  • GR Infraprojects Ltd.
  • HG Infra Engineering Ltd.
  • IRCON International Ltd.
  • Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd.
  • Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
  • PNC Infratech Ltd.
  • Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.
  • Shivalaya Construction Co. Ltd.

HRIDC’s Brief Scope of C-6: Design and Construction of Civil Works (Earthwork, Bridges, Station Buildings, Retaining Walls & other miscellaneous Works) and General Electrical Services works from km 61.50 to km 126.03 between HORC station New Patli and IR station Harsana Kalan and connectivities from Badsa Station of HORC to existing IR Sultanpur station and Mandothi station of HORC to existing IR Asaudah Station in connection with laying of New BG Double Railway line of HORC Project

The bids have now been sent for technical bid evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

C-6 is the longest package of the entire HORC project and will be financed by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) through two loans with a combined value of USD 450 million.

A list of all HORC packages (civil & system) and their status/contractors can be viewed here.

Shouldn’t there be a UP Orbital Railway as well? This will create a circle around the NCR and many trains may use this bypass.

Is something like a UP Orbital Railway anywhere on the planning board?

This is not a forum for political discussions. It could lead to needless back and forth on politics vitiating a forum that is exclusively dedicated to engineering and techno-commercial developments in India’s infrastructure projects.

These comments are very unhelpful as they will pivot and push comment section to be more polarised and eliminate all useful discussions that happen as of now.

Thanks and have a good evening.
