Bids Invited for Lucknow Metro East-West Line-2’s Topographical Survey

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) last week invited tenders (bids) to conduct a detailed topographical survey for 11.165 km Lucknow Metro Phase 1B project which will connect Charbagh Railway Station and Vasant Kunj with 12 stations.

Package LKTS-01 is the very first contract for developing Lucknow Metro’s east-west Line-2 which will run through old Lucknow. Per Phase 1B’s updated Detailed Project Report (DPR), this new line will have an approximate elevated length of 4.286 km with 5 stations between Vasant Kunj – Thakurganj, and an underground length of 6.879 km with 7 stations between Charbagh – Niwazganj.

Lucknow Metro’s Phase 1B was approved for construction by Uttar Pradesh’s government in January 2024 with an estimated cost of Rs. 5801.05 crore. It’s currently awaiting approval from the Central Government’s Public Investment Board (PIB) within the Finance Ministry.

Tender Details

  • Estimated Cost: Rs 24.32 lakhs
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pre-bid Meeting: August 6, 2024 at 3 PM
  • Bid Submission Deadline: August 27, 2024 at 3 PM
  • Technical Bid Opening: August 28, 2024 at 3 PM

UPMRC’s Brief Scope: Detailed Topographical Survey of East-West Corridor (Charbagh to Vasantkunj) including Depot at Hardoi Road and Alignment Design of Main Line and Depot Entry-Exit Line for Lucknow Metro Rail Project Phase 1B.

Since this is an extremely low value contract, I won’t be actively tracking its progress. I’ll likely add an update to the top of this post when a contract is awarded.

With this exciting development, I next expect UPMRC to issue a tender notice for conducting a geotechnical soil investigation along the line’s route. The results report from both investigations will be included in the civil construction tender documents to assist bidders with calculating & submitting more informed bids and use appropriate machinery, methods & technology during construction.

Respected Sir, Since Vasant kunj yojana is not densely populated area.It world be better to extend the Metro from Sarfarazganj to Dubagga (Sitapur Bypass) in public interest.A large crowd is traveling on this route. It would also be financially beneficial to Metro .
    Thanks

The news is good, but needed to check how many stations are to be constructed in the North-South Corridor of the Lucknow Metro, especially since the Nawajganj station is not included. This appears to be an incorrect map and incorrect information.
