Bangalore Metro Phase 3’s Geotechnical Work Begins on Magadi Road
SECON Pvt. Ltd. has officially started geotechnical soil investigation work on Magadi Road for the upcoming 44.65 km Bangalore Metro Phase 3 project.
This development comes roughly 2 months after Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) awarded four geotechnical investigation contracts with a 5 month deadline for Phase 3’s development in western Bengaluru.
SECON had scooped up 2 contracts, while Manglam Consultancy Services – Hyderabad and Myrtle Project and Consultancy were awarded 1 contract each.
Bangalore Metro’s Phase 3 includes the construction of a 32.15 km Orange Line connecting Kempapura – JP Nagar 4th Phase via 22 stations along the Outer Ring Road (ORR), and a new 12.5 km line connecting Kadabagare – Hosahalli via 9 stations.
SECON’s scope in Package 2 includes the Mysore Road Station to Kanteerava Studio Station section (Ch: 10.550 Km to Ch:21.153 Km), while in Package 3 includes the Kanteerava Studio Station to Kempapura Station section (Ch: 21.153 Km to Ch:31.172 Km).
Key: Phase 1 | Phase 2 | Phase 2A | Phase 2B | Phase 3
As shared last month, this investigation will help to properly design the line’s structures (viaduct & stations). The reports will be included within the civil construction tender documents to help infrastructure companies make more informed financial bids and use appropriate machinery, methods & technology during construction.
Bangalore Metro’s Phase 3 project was approved by the Central Government cabinet in August 2024, and at this time I expect the first civil tender notice for construction to be published in Q1 2025.

Hey Aniketh, I don’t have an easy way to sort by name, but let me take a look
Any idea when will trains begin arriving from Titagarh for the Yellow line. And also the one from CRRC with DTG signalling. I feel annoyed at how badly the delay on this line has been managed.
Is there a change in Phase -3 metro scope and is it now entirely a double-decker structure
The geotechnical has started near PES University on the ORR. Spotted two rigs earlier this week.
Let me try clicking couple of photos of the rig
