YFC – BBG JV Bids for Nagpur Metro Phase 2’s C-09 Contract

YFC Projects – BBG Infrastructure JV on Tuesday was declared as the only bidder to construct package C-09 of the 43.8 km Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project.

Package C-9 by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MAHA-METRO) will be financed by a $200mn loan approved by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in July 2024. Its scope involves the construction of 8 elevated stations on the Orange Line’s Reach-1A at Ashokvan, Dongargaon, Mohgaon, Meghdoot CIDCO, Butibori Police Station, MHADA Colony, MIDC KEC and MIDC ESR.

Construction for the viaduct interlinking these stations will be carried out via Package C-02 and GR Infraprojects (GRIL) was awarded its Rs. 903.53 crore contract in October with a scope that includes building a double-decker viaduct.

MahaMetro had invited bids for C-09’s contract in April 2024 with a Rs. 258 crore estimate and 2.5 year deadline.

Whether MahaMetro is satisfied or not with receiving just 1 bid remains to be seen. If they aren’t, then this package will will head to a retender. If they are, then YFC-BBG JV’s technical bid will be evaluated for the next steps in the tendering process.

Back in April, Enia Design was declared as the lowest bidder for these 8 station’s Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) as part of contract DDC-03.
