YFC – BBG JV Wins Nagpur Metro Phase 2’s C-09 Contract

YFC Projects – BBG Infrastructure JV was today declared as the lowest bidder to construct package C-09 of the 43.8 km Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project.

The contract’s scope involves the construction of 8 elevated stations on the Orange Line’s Reach-1A at Ashokvan, Dongargaon, Mohgaon, Meghdoot CIDCO, Butibori Police Station, MHADA Colony, MIDC KEC and MIDC ESR. Enia Design is engaged as the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) for these 8 stations as part of Package DDC-03.

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMCRL or Maha-Metro) had invited bids for C-09’s contract in April 2024 with a Rs. 258 crore estimate and 2.5 year deadline.

YFC – BBG JV was the only bidder for this package when Maha-Metro opened technical bids in November 2024, so they were instantly front-runner for its contract which will be financed by a $200mn loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

YFC – BBG JV’s Bid: Rs. 219,33,201,44.09 (Rs. 219.33 crore)

YFC – BBG JV’s bid of Rs. 219.33 crore was well below Rs. 258 crore estimate, so a contract should be awarded in the coming weeks without a long financial bid evaluation period.

They’ve bid for several civil contracts in Phase 2 but always lost out – so unless something goes awry in the financial bid evaluation stage – this will be their very first contract.

Construction for the viaduct interlinking C-09’s 8 stations will be carried out via Package C-02. GR Infraprojects (GRIL) was awarded its Rs. 903.53 crore contract in October 2024 and officially launched construction work in December-end – see details and pictures.
