Kalpataru Begins Nagpur Metro Phase 2’s Work for Package C11
Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (KPIL) on Tuesday poured concrete to cast their first pile cap for Reach 3A in Package C-11 of the 43.8 km Nagpur Metro Phase 2 project.
Ground-work for this western extension of the 19.4 km Aqua Line had started in November 2024, roughly two months after Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL or Maha-Metro) awarded KPIL with Package C-11’s Rs. 999 crore contract with a 3 year deadline.
The scope of package C-11 involves construction of 3 disjointed viaducts for Phase 2’s 5.29 km Reach 2B (Cantonment – Kanhan River), 6.414 km Reach 3A (Hingna Mount View – Hingna), and 5.33 km Reach 4A (Pardi – Transport Nagar).
KPIL in December 2024 held a bhoomi puja ceremony to establish Reach 3A’s casting yard. On Tuesday, they cast the 1st open foundation for Reach 3A’s viaduct to build pier P40.
Per KPIL’s construction plan, they will cast a total of 2181 segments from 4 long-line casting beds and 4 short-line beds. Here are some snaps KPIL’s casting yard:
