Bids Invited for Lucknow Metro Line-2’s First Civil Package LKCC (02)-02

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) on New Year’s Day invited bids for the first civil construction package of Lucknow Metro’s Line-2 connecting Charbagh Railway Station and Vasant Kunj via 12 stations.

Lucknow Metro’s Line-2 under Phase 1B project involves the construction of an 11.5 km long Line-2 through Old Lucknow. Per Phase 1B’s Detailed Project Report (DPR), Line-2 will have an approximate elevated length of 4.3 km with 5 stations between Vasantkunj – Thakurganj, and an underground length of 6.88 km with 7 stations between Charbagh – Niwazganj.

Line-2’s first civil package, LKCC (02)-02, includes construction of its elevated main-line, a 740m ramp leading to Vasantkunj Depot and 5 elevated metro stations at Thakurganj, Balaganj, Sarfarajganj, Musabagh & Vasantkunj.

• Deadline: 30 months
• Pre-Bid Meeting: January 12, 2026 at 3P
• Submission Deadline: February 2, 2026 at 3P

UPMRC’s Brief Scope: Design and Construction of Main Line Elevated Viaduct from ThakurGanj Metro Station to Vasantkunj Metro Station (approx. 4.6 kms including station length) including construction of ramp (Approx. 740.00m) to connect viaduct & Depot Entry/Exit and 5 nos. of Elevated Metro Stations i.e., Thakurganj, Balaganj, Sarfarajganj, Musabagh & Vasantkunj, including Civil, Associated Ancillary Structures, PEB structures, Architectural work, Water Supply, Sanitary Installation, Drainage, External Development, Fire Fighting arrangement, E&M works in Phase-1B of Lucknow Metro at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India

Lucknow Metro’s Line-2 project was approved for construction by India’s Central Government in August 2025 with an estimated total cost of Rs. 5801 crore.

Back in October 2025, UPMRC had received 2 bids for its Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract from AYESA and SYSTRA and I haven’t heard of a contract being awarded yet. Most likely the scope of that contract only includes the underground section (Charbagh – Niwazganj) with UPMRC’s inhouse team taking care of the elevated design.
