Montecarlo Wins Bangalore Satellite Town Ring Road’s Package 1
Montecarlo Ltd. (MCL) on Tuesday emerged as the lowest bidder to construct 35.766 km Phase 3 Package 1 of the 280.8 km Bangalore Satellite Town Ring Road (NH-948A) project.
This 4-6 lane partially access-controlled under construction highway around Bangalore will have an alignment connecting 12 towns of Dobbasapete, Doddaballapura, Devanahalli, Sulibele, Hoskote, Sarjapura, Attibele, Anekal, Tattekere, Kanakapura, Ramanagara and Magadi.
It is being built in 3 parallel phases and involves construction of NH-948A and realignment of existing NH-648 (old NH-207). Phase 3’s Package 1 lies entirely in Tamil Nadu and will connect Belagondapalli with the Karnataka – Tamil Nadu Border, south-east of the city.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) invited tenders for this package’s construction in December 2021 with a Rs. 998.73 crore estimate and 2 year deadline. Technical bids were opened on March 9 to reveal 6 bidders.

MCL’s bid of Rs. 927 crore was well below Rs. 998.73 crore, so a contract should be awarded in the coming weeks.
I hear financial bids for Phase 3’s Package 2 (TN/KA Border (Km 0.000) to Hoskote (Km 20.900)) have also been opened. If someone has its results, leave a comment below or shoot me a mail here.

Phase III starts from peddamadhagondapalli as per the documents on google, you have mentioned it has belagondapalli. which is correct.

Could you please tell us the exact place name or landmark from where phase III starts, its quite confusing because they say in few documents it starts from Karnataka/tamilnadu border and ends near tn/kar border. In few its starts from belangondapalli.

I read it on google news that package 3 phase I (i.e., peddamadhogondapalli to devarapalli) NHAI has given the contract to montecarlo as they are the lowest bidders and a deadline of 2years to complete this 40 km road in Tamilnadu. Did you see that? Any confirmation on that,i did read it on one site.

Must be true. MCL’s bid was well below NHAI’s estimate (see above). Also, NHAI awarded a bunch of contracts on/before March 31 to close off the quarter.
Does it mean it’s not passing through Sarjapura now?
Ph 3 , part 1 starts from Karnataka-TN border in the north east and runs through Hosur and ends on the south west side of Karnataka-Tamilnadu Border close to Belagondapalli.
I was told STRR would not be access controlled with accessibility they service roads throughout. But you say it is partially access controlled. Can you elaborate pls.
