Raj Corp Wins Kanpur Ring Road’s 2 Construction Contracts

Raj Corporation Ltd. on Monday was declared as the lowest bidder for 93.2 km Kanpur Outer Ring Road‘s Packages 1 & 4 by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

This 6 lane greenfield expressway will link Sachendi, Ramaipur, Rooma, Chakeri Airport, Trans Ganga City and Mandhana at an estimate cost of Rs. 5,182 crore. It will also be connected to the under construction Lucknow – Kanpur Expressway near Amarsus village.

NHAI had invited tenders for both packages’ civil construction contracts in November 2022 with 2.5 year deadlines. Technical bids were opened earlier this month to reveal 11 bidders for Package 1 and 12 bidders for Package 4.

Below I’ve shown only the lowest 5 bidders’ financial bid values.

Package 1

23.325 km long Package 1 lies west of Kanpur city and will connect Sachendi (Ch. 0.000) with Mandhana (Ch.23.325).

24.559 km long Package 4 lies south of Kanpur city and will connect Sachendi (Ch. 93.209) with Khudhgaon (Ch.68.650).

Brief Scope: Development of Six lane green field Ring Road (Package-IV) starts from Design Ch.68.650 to Design Ch. 93.209 (Length 24.559 kms) around Kanpur City in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Raj Corporation’s bids were way below NHAI’s estimates, so contracts should be awarded in the coming weeks with construction work starting this summer.
