Rahee Begins Mumbai Metro Line-9’s Track Work at Miragaon

Rahee Infratech on Thursday night began ballastless track casting activities for Mumbai Metro’s 11.38 km Line-9 which will connect Dahisar East and Mira Bhayandar through 8 elevated stations.

Standard gauge rails of 1435 mm under Package CA-167 will be installed by Rahee at the northern leg of the city’s new 31.05 km Red Line which will eventually connect Mira Bhayandar – Dahisar East – Andheri East – CSMIA Terminal 2 through 23 stations.

This elevated section is under construction by J Kumar Infraprojects via civil Package CA-48 since March 2020. The first U-girder to form Line-9’s viaduct, which includes several double-decker sections, was launched in April 2021.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) had awarded Rahee with Line-9’s Rs. 77.85 crore track-work contract in March 2024 with a 1.5 year deadline.

Leena Powertech Engineers in July was declared as the lowest bidder for Line-7A and Line-9’s electrification contract CA-176, and at this point I reckon we’re easily another 2.5 years away from seeing both extensions of the Red Line getting commissioned.

Hope it’s possible for mumbaikars go to in a train straight from mira-bhayendar to CSMT, instead of changing trains.

Yes it’s absolutely possible by end of 2026-27.

A person from Mira Bhayander can travel in metro via Line 9 (mentioned in above post), Line 7, 7A and then Line 3 without any hassle.

Interchange at Dahisar for L7 and T2 terminal for L3.
