Rahee Wins Nagpur Metro Phase 2’s Track Contract T-02

Rahee Infratech Ltd. on Monday was declared as the lowest bidder to supply and install tracks for Nagpur Metro’s 43.8 km Phase 2 project by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha-Metro).

Package T-02’s scope includes installing ballasted tracks within the small 1.746 km at-grade section of Nagpur Metro Orange Line’s 18.7 km Reach 1A connecting Khapri to Butibori MIDC ESR. The at-grade section connects chainage 19550 to 21296.917 with two metro stations named Eco Park Station and Metro City Station.

In addition, ballastless tracks will be installed at the elevated viaduct of the Orange Line’s 6.92 km Reach 2A (Automotive Square – Lekha Nagar) and Aqua Line’s 5.33 km Reach 4A (Prajapati Square to Transport Nagar). Reach 2A is under construction by Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL), Reach 4A is under construction by Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (KPIL).

Maha-Metro had invited bids for this contract in March 2024 with a Rs. 185.00 crore estimate and 2.5 year installation deadline. Technical bids were opened in November to reveal Rahee and Texmaco as the only two bidders.

Rahee’s bid of Rs. 174.19 crore was well below Maha-Metro’s Rs. 185 crore estimate, so a contract should be awarded in the coming weeks without a long financial bid evaluation period.

This is Rahee’s second win in Nagpur’s Phase 2 project. Back in May 2024, they were declared as the lowest bidder for Package T-01 for supplying ballasted tracks for Reach 1A, 1080 Grade head-hardened rails, track fasteners and turnouts.
