[Pics] Lucknow’s Metro is taking shape!

Here are the first visuals of the Lucknow’s new metro system taking shape. In Sept 2014, Larsen & Toubro had been awarded a Rs. 631 cr contract (Package LKCC 01) to construct the first section of the 22 km north-south corridor following which they began work promptly. 9 months later we can already see the U shaped girders (similar to Delhi’s Airport Express line) being placed to form the viaduct of this corridor.

Lucknow’s under construction metro is one of the most exciting projects in the region and work on the first phase is expected to be completed by 2017. The above images showcase the North-South corridor which will have a total 22 stations including 18 overhead and 4 underground. The elevated stations will be built at the Airport terminal, Amausi, Transport Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Singaar Nagar, Alambagh, Alambagh ISBT amongst other areas.
