[Pics] Progress of Kochi Metro’s Palarivattom Station – May 2016

After taking a look at Kochi Metro’s CUSAT station yesterday, let’s take a look at the progress of the Palarivattom station! This station will function as the southern terminal of the initial 8 km stretch between Muttom & Palarivattom which the DMRC & KMRL plan to open by November 1.

Like Aluva, the construction of this station by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is progressing far behind schedule and will not be able to open by the new deadline. Even the 3 member team from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) which visited Kochi in April to review the project’s progress expressed their doubts.

This past week, L&T completed building this stretch’s viaduct by launching the last girder 🙂 . With that, I expect trial runs to be extended to this station from Edapally station in July.
