Images from Inside Delhi Metro’s New Magenta Line’s Tunnel between Palam & Saddar Bazaar

Here are some new images shot inside one of the 36.24 km Magenta line’s tunnels between Palam & Saddar Bazaar in south-west Delhi! This tunnel forms a part of the CC-32 section of the Delhi Metro’s Phase 3 project for which a final TBM breakthrough was made at Shankar Vihar on June 16 2015.

As you will notice, the Overhead Equipment (OHE) system from which the trains will draw power has been installed and so has a red standpipe for firefighting purposes. The contractor is currently installing a steel walkway inside the tunnel which will be ~50 cms wide.

I recently posted images of the first of 366 locally produced coaches that will zoom through these tunnels. Check out some cool images of it here: BEML & Hyundai Rotem Roll Out 1st Locally Produced Phase III Train for Delhi Metro!
