DMRC Modifies Alignment of Phase 4’s Rithala – Narela Line
Hat tip to Vibhav Sharma.
Last week, I wrote about the DMRC revealing the alignment of Phase 4’s reinstated 7.96 km Lajpat Nagar – Saket G Block line in south Delhi, but overlooked a small but notable tweak made to the upcoming Rithala – Narela line’s alignment in the Pooth Khurd area of north-west Delhi.
This 21 km extension of the 24.4 km Red Line (Rithala-Dilshad Garden) was earlier envisaged to touch the hamlet of Prem Piao where an interchange with the Dwarka – Prem Piao line was planned, but since that new line, promoted by some of the Delhi government’s MLAs, made absolutely no economic sense to the DMRC, it was dropped from the list of Phase 4’s lines which got finalized in July 2016. Subsequently, the DMRC revised the Rohini – Narela line’s alignment, and now instead of touching Prem Piao by running south of Pooth Khurd, it now takes a northern route around Pooth Khurd to reach Narela.
I’ve reproduced the DMRC’s map here displaying the location of all the proposed stations. The unadulterated version of it can be viewed here on their website. Note the inclusion of a new depot in Narela which along with the Shastri Park Depot will serve the entire 55 km line from Narela – Rithala – Kashmere Gate – Dilshad Garden – New Bus Adda (Ghaziabad).
Line Type: Elevated
Proposed Stations: Rohini Sector 26, Rohini Sector 31, Rohini Sector 32, Rohini Sector 36, Rohini Sector 37, Barwala, Put Khurd, Bawana Industrial Area – 1, Bawana Industrial Area – 2, Bawana, Bawana JJ Colony, Sanpath, New Sanath Colony, Anaj Mandi and Narela
There hasn’t been any change in Phase 4’s status/approvals since my last post on it.

This need to be going through Rohini 25 , Sahabad Dairy, Bawana JJ colony..Then enteriing Narela.. Its all gone wrong..
TOTALLY WRONG DECISION,IGNORING SECTOR-24,23,21,20
This should also cover sec21-22, main kanjhawala road
Absolutely agreed… Kanjhawla road ,budh vihar, sector 22 20,21 ,23, 24,25… A line from green line nangloi to these areas and connect rithala will help a lot
They’ve also added a depot location for the Tuglakhabad-Airport line, south of the line between Vasant Kunj and Mehrauli.
Seems to be planned at Rajokri Forest – one of the last vestiges of the Aravalis in Delhi. Let’s see how that goes, especially with it being designated a ‘protect forest’ with illegal settlements in it.
It will tough for dmrc to get designed land as v see similar case Mumbai aarey land
Recently dmrc published on newspaper that pink and magenta lines will open in parts by 2017. Pink line’s last section mayur vihar pocket 1 to shiv vihar will open in 2017. Will the partly demolished building near hasanpur village near i.p extn will be demolished. Because without that the line could not be opened. It connects vinod nagar depot.
Yes, it will be demolished. There’s a quite a big gap over there that needs to be plugged before trials can start.
Need of Narela people – samaypur badli line to narela not rithala to narela
If rithala metro come in narela it will be waisting of money and time also…bcoz in this rout rare passenger will do up down…..if samaypur badli line direct joint to narela via singhu border route …then metro will be in profit….bcoz lots of passenger daily do up down towards delhi…..
I agree bro but we shall take action
Agree with you bro.the passengers of sonipat , kundli & more 50 small villages peoples will get benefits but govt. not looking towards this side as always.
100% agreed..
fully agree there is no sense of extended red line to narela and even to kundli daily passengers are travelling to Gurugram and they need to save time which can be done by extended the yellow line to narela via khera khurd, hollambi and sindhu border
Yes rithala to kanjhawala make sense with covering all pending sectors of Rohini, 24, 23, 21, 22 and towards main kanjhawala
Rithala to narela route should be rithala to ochandi border
the delhi government chose the worng metro rail alignment to not set perfect route rithala to narela to long distance so please change this change alignment to set samaypur badli to narela….??
Agree
Totally wrong
Metro is going to rithala to heliport and other village
Yes
Ignoring shahbad dairy and sec 29 sec30 ROHINI is absolutely wrong decision for METRO route
Are u serious that sector 24,23, 21 etc are going to be ignored in new route…?
If that so then it’s a totally wrong decision.
Metro should must go atlest till Helipad & should be diverted after that.
In the map it’s showing through Helipad but in station wise detail it’s not.
Pls clear the confusion.
This need to be going through Shiv chowk , sector 29, 34,35, bawana Put Khurd, Bawana Industrial Area – 1, Bawana Industrial Area – 2, Then enteriing Narela.. I
Right it should be from 24 32 shiv chowk dairy 28 29 30 34 35 bawana pls consider
Should be touch dda flate G 2 Sector Narela.
Good
It should be tough to Bawana JJ Colony
Hamare liye sabse bekar route sabse accha Ruthe Samaypur Badli Narela is it
Badali to Narela metro station is the best solution for Narela people
Yes badali to Narela metro station is the best
fully agree there is no sense of extended red line to narela and even to kundli daily passengers are travelling to Gurugram and they need to save time which can be done by extended the yellow line to narela via khera khurd, hollambi and sindhu border
Every one looking at his/her advantage. Let DMRC choose the route themselves. They are best.
Pls qick start matro in nerala no meter how route
So late in narala ind area is very big hub in delhi
after reading comments posted by the delhi residents . i think that most the people wants metro route / station near their home .
I think this route is going to be total waste of money as well as time.
Badli to Narela is more profitable for dmrc.
Right
Samaypur Badli to Narela is the easiest way of connecting the sub-city Narela. This is the commercially viable route for DMRC and passengers will be benefited. journey through Bawana and Rohini to Delhi is wastage of time and money and DMRC would be a loss.
or else the Narela – Samaypur Badli rout should also to be connected simultaneously. only then the ridership will increase.
Indian railway is providing its services from badli to narala.Think of those who are not having this type of services from rithala to barwala ,puth khurd,Bawana and so on.
M One Hundred Percent Agreed With U.
Right
Fourth should touch at least rohini Sector 21 and also mundka line should be extended up to Kanjhawala to have some quick connectivity
its totally wrong decision by dmrc. samaypur badli metro should extended to narela or sighu border for better ridership. DMRC and passengers both will be benefit. and same suggestion for red line rithala to bawana main city to auchandi border. .bcoz lots of passenger daily do up down towards delhi…..for both ways.
Previous proposal should be followed i.e. Sector-24-25 (Iskon Temple) then divert towards Shahbad dairy..
This can be the best route, i suppose.
It should be from 24 .28.29.30.34.35 bawana
Or extend from badli to shahbad dairy 27.28.29.30..34.35 sector population is in this side ur plan to running on that location where there is no people r living
It would be desatures to exclude Rohini sector 24-25 from the proposed metro route from Rithala to Narela in phase iv
One more connectivity should be from rithala to mundka
Metro can start from ghaziabad to mundka and another ghaziabad to bawana
Millions of peoples can take benefit & save the time for Rohini Helipad & Hindon Airport from bahadurgarh to ghaziabad directly and millions of people can touch this route and many areas can cover which have no proper connectivity like Rohini Sector 24, 23 , 22, 21, 35, 36, budh vihar, begumpur , nithari pratap vihar, ramesh Enclave rama vihar prem nagar, mubarakpur & kamrudding nagar etc also.
What about the people of NARELA s who lived there who have no source for up down
Totally wrong decision …i request to think about covering of whole area of narela…
When it will start
And it should touch Rohini Sector 34 and 35 also
It should be touch Rohini sector 27, 28,29, via Shahbad Dairy
It has been around 25 years since delhi metro started it’s 1st route in Delhi. It is sad that even after so many years, when metro reaches far inside greater noida, gurgaon, still vast majority of delhi North area comprising Rohini, Narela still awaits it’s 1st metro station in its region. Metro planners in Delhi are busy developing multiple line in all parts except northern parts of delhi.
They should explain the reason behind negligence of these parts till date and immediately take necessary steps to bring these parts on metro map.
BhupeshG – Very well said and nice observation
Agreed. Narela side is totally ignored.
Concerned authorities should take early decisions & also implement those.
Dmrc is using impartial decisions for Narela & sonepat citizen.

Either give metro from badli to dairy 28.29.30.43.35 bawana .jj colony narela or from rithala route should be like 24.32 Shiv chowk.dairy 28.29.30 34 35 barwala bawana jj colony narela its my suggestion coz people maximum r suffering in these route
Yes why there is ignorence of public of this side area
Narela need samaypur badli to narela route and please provide metro immediately bcoz dda faces losses in narela
Very sjitable rout is Samaypur badli to Narela ,Delhi govt please do not ignore.
Sir also think about the people of Kharkhoda. Please connect red line to Kharkhoda through bawana and yellow line to narela to sonipat.
Metro best route in rithla to nearly sec 24 25 26 27 29 31 35 37 puthkhurd Bawn a j.j Coveney to narula.
This best route should take decision
DMrc
Actually very urgent Metro very……………..best rout is rithla to sector 24 25 26 31 32 36 37 bawna indudtrial area and bawna j.j.coloney and urgently touch in DDA flat sector buthkhurd and last anajmandi narela this is very best rout
This request to you please immd. METRO ROUT ALL READY YOUR RECORD GOVT. ALLIMENT
Your choice is wrong, I choose yellow line Metro for narela people’s
The proposed metro route to Bawana/ narela sector from Rithala metro stn. is not at all supporting the development of DDA sectors viz., Sector 28, 29 & especially sector 30 etc.
In the absence of the metro connectivity here, no one wants to settle in these sectors although possession has also been given by DDA~15-20 yrs back. Many have lost their hard earned savings investing in these sectors. Due to metro connectivity all the areas around Delhi NCR(includes Gurgaon & Noida) are coming up much faster in a short span of 4-5 years only. These sectors in Rohini were proposed for the welfare of comman man who needs a small house and the required transport to commute to their works. This is a very serious matter and by this message I would like to bring this to the knowledge of the concerned authorities to help in the development of sector 28, 29 & 30 which are litrally ignored by everyone.
Only metro connectivity can help here for the development and foot-fall which is need of the hour.
Raman
Do it its 100 percent right
It should go till rohini sector 34 and 35 only.. and yellow line should go to narela
Yellow line ko narela se add karna chahiye sabhi duty wale new delhi side hi jate hai
