Pier Casting Work Begins on Ahmedabad’s Motera – Ranip Stretch
With rebar tied up for multiple piers, workers and engineers in Ahmedabad today began casting work to build Ahmedabad Metro’s 4.85 km elevated viaduct between Motera and Ranip in the northern part of the city. The contract for this section of the 17.23 km north-south line was awarded to Ranjit Buildcon on January 13, 2016 and ground-work began in February. After the 6 km Vastral – Apparel Park and 4.62 km Gyaspur – Shreyas sections, this is the third stretch of the metro project where casting work has started – see a map with sections of the project at the bottom of this post.
This stretch includes 5 stations at Motera, Sabarmati, AEC (Ahmedabad Electricity Company), Sabarmati Railway Station and Ranip which will be constructed by a separate contractor. MEGA originally invited bids for that package in February 2016 and then re-invited bids in July 2016, but is yet to open the financial bids and award the contract.
When the first pier is ready to be shown, I’ll post an update here and showcase it on my Twitter account.

Can you share the Exact Location of Motera Station? I believe for Motera the location has been fixed.
