HMRTC Invites Bids to Prepare DPR for Metro Line to Gurgaon Rlwy Stn

The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited, which is responsible for all metro construction activity in the state of Haryana, has published a notice inviting bids for the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new 17.11 km metro line connecting Subhash Chowk to Gurgaon Railway Station.

In June 2016, the Haryana government had appointed the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to conduct a study and prepare a techno-economic feasibility report (TEFR) for this line including two others to connect Narela – Kundli and Gurgaon – Old Faridabad. While the Narela – Kundli line’s DPR has been approved, the other two lines are still in the concept stage.

Notice Inviting Proposals
HMRTC invites Request For Proposal for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Metro Rail extension from Subhash Chowk to Railway Station Gurugram. Techno-feasibility study of the alignment has been got conducted from DMRC which has found it to be viable. HSIIDC is already implementing the project of extension of Metro link from HUDA City Centre Gurugram to Bawal. Hence, it is envisaged that the Metro alignment between HUDA City Centre Gurugram to Subhash Chowk on Sohna road shall be common for both the Metro links, i.e., HUDA City Centre Gurugram to Railway Station Grugram and HUDA City Centre Gurugram to Bawal.

The proposed alignment of the Metro link is from Subhash Chowk to Hero Honda Chowk, cross NH-8 at Hero Honda Chowk and will continue towards Basai road crossing from where it will take right turn to Neki Ram Road and reach Sector 4-5 crossing and will reach Gurugram Railway Station via Railway road.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 4 pm on August 17, 2017.

The services and deliverables to be rendered by the winning firm include traffic & transportation surveys for estimation of transport demand, alternate routes, multi-modal traffic integration plans, topographical surveys, location & general layout of stations, land acquisition plans, geotechnical investigations, environmental impact assessment, technology selection, maintenance depot concept plan, security measures, implementation schedule as well as a revenue model for generating at least 50% of cost through property development and 12.5% of O&M through recurring source of revenue other than fare.

Earlier this month, Haryana’s Chief Minister met with HMRTC officials and discussed this metro line’s route, but its alignment doesn’t match up with what’s described in the RFP document. Perhaps the event photographer didn’t capture all discussed routes? In any case, the firm will have to primarily stick to the route described above and prepare alternate alignments for HMRTC’s consideration.

Wonderful! Hope they expedite this road, it will extend the Metro all the way to the doorstep of my office. Have been dealing with recalcitrant auto wallahs (to and from Huda City Center) for 7 years now.

    Hi TMRG,

Thank you for coming back 🙂

Do you have any updates on this project. The extension of Delhi Metro Rail to Old Gurgaon has been in the making for years now but nothing concrete yet. The proposed line will go up to Cyber Hub (NH48) making it a complete loop as per the information available on the web. It would be great to get your eye on this as to where exactly the project file has reached. Has the DPR been approved by Haryana and Central governments?

Hoping get an update for you soon.

    Thanks,
    Shray
