SUCG Lowest Bidder for Delhi Metro’s Najafgarh – Dhansa BS Extn
SUCG Infrastructure India Pvt Ltd – the Indian subsidiary of Shanghai Urban Construction Group has emerged as the lowest bidder for constructing a 1.218 km underground extension of the Delhi Metro’s 4.295 km Line-9 (Dwarka – Najafgarh) to Dhansa Bus Stand after officials from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation yesterday opened financial bids submitted by different infrastructure firms.
The Government of India approved this Rs. 565 crore extension in May 2017 and will bear Rs. 107 crores in the form of 50% equity (Rs. 75.50 cr) and subordinate debt, Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide Rs. 323 crore while the rest will be borne by the Delhi Government including equity (Rs. 75.50 cr) and subordinate debt.
DMRC invited bids for this extension’s civil construction, under package CC-126, a few days before the government’s approval with an estimated cost of Rs 300.51 crores, and SUCG Infrastructure India put in the lowest bid at Rs. 335 crores.
Financial bid values submitted by the lowest technically qualified firms –
Firm | Bid |
SUCG | Rs. 335 cr |
TPL-Gulermak | Rs. 340 cr |
Afcons | Rs. 380 cr |
Besides twin tunnels, the contractor will also be responsible for building the Dhansa Bus Stand Station:
Note – As per one news source, Line-9 will be known as the Grey Line, but the DMRC has not yet confirmed it. With this extension, the line will become 5.513 km long.
If no issues arise, then in the coming days the DMRC will go on to award SUCG Infrastructure with their first independent contract in the 162.495 km Phase 3 project. Prior to this, SUCG partnered up with Larsen and Toubro to build the 6.3 km CC-27 (Hauz Khas – Shankar Vihar) underground section of the 38.235 km Magenta Line.
Once awarded, DMRC would like work to be completed within 36 months (3 years). SUCG is likely to deploy only 1 tunnel boring machine (TBM) to build the tunnels like how HCC did for package CC-66 (Sai Baba Shaft – Najafgarh Station) on the same line.

DMRC recently invited bids for the construction of new sheds:
http://www.delhimetrorail.com/otherdocuments/922/NIT_CC121.pdf
Will it b a separate depot or extension of the old one, coz the new line is a standard gauge line i suppose.
New crane requirement 50ton 41mtr available on hire please contact
Please give some update on kalkaji botanical garden section cmrs inspection. When it is expected to start.
DMRC is aiming to get it inspected in October. If I knew the dates, I would have posted them already.
Previously you mentioned some syncronization issue between PSD and train door closing opening. Is that resolved?
Tests are still underway
1.218km extension is including the length of the station or excluding the length
That figure includes the station. Length bored by the TBM will be much shorter, likely around 700 m as there’s a cut & cover component as well.
Thanks
