Lucknow Metro: 2.5 km of Tracks Laid for North Extn; 11th Train Arrives

This weekend, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation announced the completion of track laying work on a 2.5 km stretch, between Lekhraj Market – RS Mishra Nagar – Indira Nagar metro stations, of the upcoming 8.63 km KDSB Stadium – Munshipulia section of the 22.878 km Line-1.

Workers from Kalindee Rail Nirman commenced track-work on January 18, and about 18 km of rails will be laid for both the up and down lines on this northern extension (package LKCC-07) of the line.

In addition, LMRCL on February 22 received their 11 Alstom Metropolis train at the Transport Nagar Depot from Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. This trainset of 4 coaches was dispatched on February 10 and is part of a 80 coach (20 trains x 4 coach) order that Alstom India won in September 2015 after submitting a bid of Rs. 1069.81 crore. The system’s first ever train arrived in the city in November 2016.

    Is the viaduct/bridge over river Gomti completed? You got pics to share?

      It’ll likely be the last piece of the line to get completed.
