J Kumar Awarded Mumbai Metro Line-7’s Balance Viaduct Contract

In a BSE & NSE filing, J Kumar Infraprojects today announced it had won a Rs. 174.76 crore contract from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for the construction of the remaining (balance) viaduct on the 6.327 km Package CA-01 of Mumbai Metro’s 16.5 km Line-7 (Red Line) connecting Andheri East and Dahisar East.

A Rs. 348 crore contract for this section was originally awarded to Simplex Infrastructures in April 2016, but was terminated in January 2020 due to tardy progress. The MMRDA then reinvited bids for its balance works in 2 parts – one for its viaduct (Package CA-91) and the other for its four stations (Package CA-92) at Andheri Metro (East), Shankarwadi, JVLR Junction, Mahanand.
