3 Bidders for Noida Metro’s Extension to Gr. Noida Sector-2
Minutes ago, officials from Noida Metro Rail Limited (NMRC) opened bids for a 9.605 km extension of Noida Metro’s Aqua Line from Noida Sector-51 to Greater Noida Sector-2 to reveal that 3 firms had submitted bids for its civil construction.
This first section is a part of a 14.95 km further extension of the 29.7 km Line-1 from Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V which was approved for construction by Uttar Pradesh government’s cabinet on December 3, 2019.
NMRC invited tenders for this package in May 2020 with an estimate of Rs. 430.69 crore and expects the assigned contractor to complete work in just 20 months from when the contract is awarded.

- Sam India Builtwell Pvt Ltd.
- Shrisay Infotech
The bids have now been sent for technical evaluation which can take a couple months to complete. When that is done, the financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened to reveal who’s the lowest bidder and most likely contractor.

Package: NGNC-01
Scope: Part Design and Construction of Elevated Viaduct and 5 elevated stations viz NOIDA SEC -122, NOIDA SEC-123, GR. NOIDA SEC-4, ECOTECH-12, GR. NOIDA SEC-2, (excluding Architectural finishing Works and PEB works of stations) from Chainage 0.00 m to Chainage 9605 m of Noida -Greater Noida Metro Rail Project.
Noida Metro’s Aqua Line was originally built in 3 packages by CEC-Sam India JV, so Sam India isn’t new to Noida Metro. Shrisay Infotech is an unknown entry and on JustDial refer themselves as “a top player in the category Provident Fund Consultants in the Delhi“, so I wouldn’t be surprised if their bid is disqualified in the technical bid evaluation stage.
Back in June, LKT Engineering Consultants Ltd. emerged as the lowest bidder for this section’s Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract. The award of its contract remains unknown, but since their bid was 21% below the estimate, I’d reckon it was awarded.

Is there going to be new Rolling stock tenders as well ?
Higher chances of that because of the Current Dispute between India and China. In most of the case the authority directly order coaches from the 1st one. For Example:- CMRL have directly ordered 10-4 coach metro trains from Alstom (the original metro supplier of Chennai Metro). Noida Metro Uses CRRC Nanjing Phuzhen trains for the Aqua Line. There were plans to directly order trains from CRRC, but due to the situation between India and China. There is a higher probability that NMRCL will invite Tenders of Rolling Stock for the Extension of the Aqua Line.
