3 Bidders for Track-work at Delhi Metro’s Ajronda & Sarita Vihar Depots

Three rail manufacturers have submitted bids to supply tracks to Delhi Metro’s existing Ajronda and Sarita Vihar depots on the Violet Line (Line-6) for augmenting additional maintenance facilities as part of Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 project.

This contract is part of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)’s strategic plan to repurpose Sarita Vihar Depot for also stabling and maintaining trains on the upcoming 20.201 km Aerocity – Tughlakabad line in the future.

DMRC invited bids for this track-work contract at both depots in May 2020 with an estimated cost of 22.70 crore and expects the assigned contractor to complete work in 24 months.

Technical bids were today opened to reveal the following bidders:

  • Emrail Sdn Bhd – Railtech Pvt Ltd. (EMRAIL – RAILTECH) JV
  • S.C. Agarwal Engineers & Railway
  • Paras Railtech Pvt. Ltd.

Contract: DT-11

Brief Scope: Supply, Installation, Testing and commissioning of Ballastless/Ballasted Track in Ajronda Depot and Sarita Vihar depot for Augmentation of Additional Maintenance Facilities for Standard Gauge Corridor of Delhi MRTS Project of Phase-IV.

Bids for Sarita Vihar’s reconstruction (package DC-26), including a new ramp, cut & cover section, and other civil works, were invited civil construction companies earlier this month – see more information and depot’s new layout here.

To maintain the Violet Line’s maintenance capacity, the DMRC is also augmenting Ajronda Depot. Bids for its reconstruction under package DC-25 were invited in June, and the last date to respond was recently pushed to early August.
