15 of these stations have been renamed by the MMRDA over the past year – see their new names here.

Here are some tender drawings prepared by AECOM Asia – Kirti Structural Consultants – Absolute Architects JV with station designs showing a heavy use of glazing and yellow lovers (similar to window blinds) in its facade to represent the line’s colour.

Back in April 2020, Studio Archohm had released a small render of Mandapeshwar Station (formerly IC Colony) with a design similar to that of Line-7’s Akurli Station which is in an advanced stage of completion. Here’s a new full blown render of it:

In May, MMRDA invited bids for similar facade works on 12 of its 16.5 km Line-7’s stations. Financial bids for it have also been opened – I’ll share their results whenever I’m aware.

With this development, local residents in Mumbai’s western suburbs should start seeing facade works commencing on both Line-2A and Line-7’s stations by November.
