Jakson – JSC JV Wins Bangalore Metro Phase 2’s E&M Work

Per Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL)’s updated website, Jakson Ltd. – JSC PT JV on January 7 was awarded a Rs. 171. 56 crore contract for electrical & mechanical works at 32 under construction stations of Bangalore Metro’s 73.92 km Phase 2 project.

BMRCL had invited tenders (bids) for this contract in 2019 with an original closing date of February 28, 2020. I’ll add financial bid values from all bidders here when available.

Final Contract Value: Rs. 171,56,73,151.23

Brief Scope: Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) works comprising of L.T Panels, L.T Cable distribution, Lighting, Hydraulics, fire safety systems, UPS, DG sets, HVAC & BMS for 32 Nos of elevated stations at Reach-1 Extension, Reach-3 Extension and Reach-5 new line for phase-II Project of BMRCL

The 32 stations are located at:

  • Purple Line’s 15.257 km Reach 1A & 1B:  Baiyyappanahalli – Whitefield extension with 13 stations at Benniganahalli (formerly Jyothipuram / Tin Factory), KR Puram, Saraswati Nagar (formerly Mahadevapura), Gurudacharpalya, Hoodi Junction (erst. Doddanekundi), Sitharama Palya (formerly Visvesvaraya Industrial Area), Kundalahalli, Nallurhalli (formerly Vydehi Hospital), Sadarmangla (formerly Satya Sai Hospital), Pattandur Agrahara (formerly. ITPL), Kadugodi, Channasandra (formerly Ujjval Vidyalaya) and Whitefield
  • Green Line’s 3.031 km Reach 3C: Hesaraghatta Cross (formerly Nagasandra) – Madavar (formerly BIEC) with 3 stations at Manjunathanagar, Chikkabidarakallu (formerly Jindal) and Madavar (formerly BIEC)
  • Yellow Line’s 19.143 km Reach 5: RV Road – Bommasandra with 16 stations at Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road (RV Road), Ragigudda, Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Central Silkboard, Bommanahalli (formerly HSR Layout), Hongasandra (formerly Oxford College), Muneshwara Nagar, Chikkabegur, Basapura Road, Hosa Road, Electronic City, Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahara (formerly Electronic City – II), Huskur Road, Hebbagodi and Bommasandra

Whitefield Woes on Twitter recently posted some nice snaps of the Purple Line’s stations in and around ITPL.

In other news, Johnson Lifts Pvt. Ltd. on February 3 was awarded a Rs. 24.52 crore contract to supply and commission gearless elevators at the Yellow Line and Pink Line’s elevated stations.

Final Contract Value: Rs. 24,52,16,500

Tender Notification No: BMRCL/Phase II/ICB No. 4 ELEV – DM

Brief Scope: Design, manufacture, supply, installations, testing and commissioning of machine roomless, gearless elevators for Reach-5 (elevated) and Reach-6 (elevated) of Phase II.

This is so far the only large systems-contract for the Pink Line’s 7.5 km elevated section (Dairy Circle Ramp – Kalena Agrahara), which is soon going to go through a re-tender for completing pending civil works following the termination of Simplex Infrastructures’ contract earlier this month. Tender notices for its other contracts – rolling stock, signaling, telecommunication, AFC etc. are still pending.

    Bangalore Metro when going to Start 3rd Phase link Magadi Tollgate to Kamashipalya Junction. Heavy traffic between people unable move one place to others place.

      Phase 3 is not gonna start anytime soon. With Phase 2 getting completed hopefully by 2023ish, we can probably expect its construction to start only when reasonable progress has been made on phase 2A and 2B.

    Congrats to all team members at Jakson. We are executing AE03 DMRC Mumbai Metro Line 2A. We have commissioned E&M at Charkop Depot, OCC & DCC building in January. We are now working at 17 stations.
